Newcomers
One of the most important things to consider as you begin your move to Joint Base Lewis-McChord is that the school your child attends is based upon your home address. On-Base residents’ children will attend Clover Park Schools. Off-post residents can register their child with Child, Youth and School Services at the central registration building located at 12th St and Bitar Ave for a before and after school program on Base. After that, the family will receive a waiver to have the child attend on-base schools. At times, there is a waiting list, so there are no guarantees that the child will be admitted to the program or the school. Joint Base Lewis-Mcchord School Support Services is here to make the transition into your new school as smooth as possible. Should you have any questions or concerns pertaining to K-12, please do not hesitate to give us a call.
Starting School
Joint Base Lewis-McChord children who will be five-years-old on or before August 31 are eligible to attend kindergarten.
